Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Walk A Mile In My Shoes was attached to Fight Like A Valley Girl, which went ahead on Saturday 13th June 2015. The idea for this event was to ask men to come out of their comfort zones and walk a mile in high heels for Scott Abbruzzese.

Scott was diagnosed, in September 2012, with osteosarcoma which is a bone cancer that affects mainly children especially teenagers. He underwent 9 months of chemotherapy in between having surgery to replace his humerus bone.
Scott finished his treatment in May 2013, this was then followed by 3 monthly check-ups. Scott had clear scans for 18 months.
In October 2014, Scott underwent checks to investigate pain in his right hip and leg, scan results showed Scott had a tumour in his spine. The osteosarcoma had come back.
Scott & his family were given a plan of treatment, which was 7 rounds of chemotherapy & surgery on the spine at the end of March 2015.
The idea was to have a charity day with Men strutting their stuff through the Town Centre while wearing high heels. After the walk there was a charity night with a BBQ & auction to raise as much money as possible for this young man.
